TOEIC test day tips
On TOEIC test day, bring the valid photo ID you registered with, arrive early, and follow the rules of your local test center. Do a light review the day before instead of cramming, sleep well, and answer every question since there is no penalty for wrong answers.
The week before
- Take your last full timed test 3–4 days before.
- Review only your saved mistakes and key vocabulary.
- Check your registration confirmation, test center address and required ID.

The day before
Do 20–30 minutes of light practice to stay in rhythm, then stop. Prepare your ID and anything your test center allows, and get a full night of sleep.
On test day
- Arrive early; late arrivals may not be admitted.
- Phones and electronic devices must be switched off and stored as instructed.
- The Listening section starts first and runs continuously, so stay focused from the first question.
- Fill in an answer for every question before time is up.
Rules vary by country
Test-center procedures (allowed items, check-in time, paper or computer test) depend on your country. Always follow the instructions from your local TOEIC representative.
